Chris is getting ready to head out for his second PAA event of the year. This event, the final stop of the season for the PAA, will be held on Neely Henry Lake in Gadsden, Alabama. Neely Henry can be a very difficult lake to fish, especially in the “dog days” of summer. The lake is only 11,200 acres, but should still offer plenty of space for the field of anglers. Chris has spent some time on Neely Henry, and has had some tournament success that will undoubtedly aid him in developing a game plan going in to the tournament.
One key aspect that has not really been touched on is the fact that there is still a massive amount of debris left in the lake from the tornadoes that swept through Alabama earlier this year. Laydowns that have been fished for years have been removed by clean-up crews, but hundreds of new spots have been created by other structure that has yet to be retrieved from the lake. Anglers who can find those new spots holding fish will likely have a great chance at bringing solid weights throughout the tournament.
The tournament will be held from August 18-20, and will launch out of Coosa Landing in Gadsden all 3 days of the tournament. The tournament headquarters for the event is Bass Pro Shops in Leeds, Alabama. On August 17th from 5:30pm-7:00pm Bass Pro Shops will play host to a meet-and-greet, so be sure to come out and meet Chris and all the other anglers competing in this event! Weigh-Ins will be held at the launch on the 18th and 19th, and the final weigh-in will be held at Bass Pro Shops in Leeds on the 20th. For more information, visit the PAA Official Website.
